Edward Harold Dixon

Edward Harold Dixon did photographic training while in service and was posted to China. After the war, on February 12, 1949, Harold Dixon and his wife to be, Katie Sue Emens where married in the home of the minister of a Church of Christ in Mississippi, after which she changed her name to Sue Emens Dixon.

Shot by the "Hobbs & Looney Studio" in Decatur, Alabama, the notation "Please rush - must have before Friday" amd a request for three copies is written in pencil on the back, causing one to wonder if one copy was for a person going on deployment. After the war she participated in beauty contests, and in 1948, she would be named "Miss Decatur."
Mr. Dixon worked for NASA, in the MSFC Photographic Division. He was born on August 19, 1924, and passed away on July 27, 1974.
So many young people served in the war. Mary Emens Beck, the sister of Harold Dixon's wife and another beauty in her own right, also served in WWII. Note her apparent Army Nurse Corps collar insignia.
