Missing Air Crew Report (MACR) 12028 regarding the February 7, 1945 crash of a C-47 with the loss of two American personnel and 35 Chinese personnel at Tian'e ("Tungloa"), Guangxi province. There exists only a record of the names of the American personnel, as below.

Colonel William D. Hopson and crew with their shark-teeth painted B-24; kissing the plane. At Palm Beach, Florida, after safe return to the US post-war. B-24 serial #44-51040. Painted under the nose window, "Maj. Dick Young," which may refer to Richard B. Young, who was in the original cadre, navigator of #42-40062  "FIVE BY FIVE." (Thanks metteor51.)

American GIs examine small Japanese fragmentation bomb in China on November 13th, 1942. 2nd Lt. Nicholas Marich (sometimes spelled Marick) and 2nd Lt. Joseph W. Cunningham returned to American bases after having spent three days behind Japanese lines evading capture after their B-25 bomber was shot down on October 25, 1942 about 25 miles north-west of Hong Kong, China. B-29 "Mammy Yokum"

The B-29 bomber "Mammy Yokum" in China during WWII.  At one point this plane was piloted by Rolland Thomas Young, ASN #O684103, who was attached to 792nd Bombardment Squadron (H), 468th Bombardment Group, 58th Bombardment Wing, 20th Air Force on September 4, 1943, with rank of 2nd Lt. He was a captain in the Air National Guard (Indiana) after the war, and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Rolland Thomas “Rollo” Young went by Tom Young in the military. Young was a native of Akron, Ohio.
