Chinese Soldier And 396th Air Service Squadron Officers

"The officer in the center is Lt. Sohl engineering officer of the 396th. The officer on the right is Capt. Weisburg a medical officer with the 396th. Unfortunately Lt.Sohl did not make it back to the states. He had his orders to return stateside and was awaiting transportation home when he was bitten by a rat and became very ill. Three days later he passed away. He was a fine officer respected by all that came in contact with him."

Work Area Revetment At Liuzhou

"The Latest In Shops And Equipment--This a picture looking into a revetment that served as our work area and engineering area at Luichow [Liuzhou], China. Lt. Sohl's office was in the little shack at the right and all our tools and equipment was in the tent. We changed a lot of B-24 engines in this revetment along with replacing blown out tires and doing sheet metal repair work.
