Chinese Air Force

Americans and Chinese enjoy a bit of recreation in "Flanagan's Bar," named for Sgt. Wm. Flanagan, seated third from the left in front row. Lt. Tong, K. T, communications officer for the Chinese Air Force, plays the Chinese violin (二胡). Image courtesy of Tony Strotman.

A captured Japanese A6M2 "Zeke", re-painted in Chinese Air Force (CAF) colors, with Chinese serial 'P5016'. The aircraft directly behind the 'Zeke' is a P-43 "Lancer" flown by the CAF. The aircraft are probably at Kunming--because of the 23 Fighter Group P-40 in the background on the right. (information provided by Tony Strotman)
