Airmen Talking

Captain William J. Johnson, Jr., explains a maneuver to a Chinese pilot.

At an advanced air base, China--Chinese and American fighter pilots of the Fourteenth Air Force's hard-hitting China-American Composite Wing (CACW) fly wing-tip to wing-tip in China where they are daily coordinating their efforts with Chinese ground troops to drive the Japanese out of China. Here, just before setting out on a strafing mission, Captain William J. Johnson, Jr., explains a maneuver to a Chinese pilot. Captain Johnson is a resident of Crystal Springs , Miss. (233 E. Marion Ave.) and his wife, Mrs. Agnes H. Johnson, lives at 1368 Harbert Ave., Memphis, Tenn.  He has been in the army since October 31, 1941, and overseas since February 20, 1944. Captain Johnson, who has been awarded the Air Medal, is acting as a squadron operations officer.
